Papoose Rock Box

Our 9 hole tray filled with 8 lots of naturally coloured rocks and 20 coloured felt balls of 3.5cm. Supporting play-based learning and inquiry, the Rock Box encourages open-ended play, allowing children to explore and manipulate the rocks and felt balls in various ways. This type of play fosters inquiry as children experiment with sorting, stacking, and creating small worlds, promoting their natural curiosity and engagement in the learning process. Also developing early STEM and problem-solving skills through the use of the Rock Box, children can engage in activities that involve sorting by colour, counting the rocks and felt balls, and experimenting with balance and stability during stacking. These experiences support the development of foundational STEM skills as children learn to observe, hypothesise, and solve problems in a hands-on manner.
